This month is dedicated to [one of] my true loves, Chocolate. The recipes are varied in difficulty, taste, and sweetness level, so suitable for all abilities and palate types! Bonus! One is even a savory take on the generally sweet substance.
To start, the recipe list:
Chocolate and Rosemary Biscuits (These are savory folks!)
Greek Yogurt Banana Tart (with a Chocolate Crust! What?!)
Pomegranate and Pepitas Dark Chocolate Bark
Nut Butter Cups (Reese's Hack!!)
As you can see from that list, the flavor profiles are pretty varied. No joke, there is something in there that will satisfy everyone you wish to impress. A tip for picking out Chocolate to make the cups and bark... don't use a chocolate you wouldn't eat on its own. I recommend buying a chocolate bar that you love (and it doesn't have to be expensive!) because it will be the predominant taste in each of those recipes. Personally, I like a creamy milk chocolate to go with the nut butter and a darker, slightly bitter chocolate to stand up to the pomegranates and pumpkin seeds.
Now onto the grocery list... Remember this whole list will cover all four of the above recipes. If you don't feel like taking on all four, that's cool! You can shop off the ingredient list from each individual recipe.
Pomegranate seeds (I buy the prepared ones from POM)
Bananas - 2-3 large
Fresh Rosemary - just a small amount will be needed
Greek Yogurt - full fat - medium sized tub
Butter - unsalted - 1 lbs
Whole Milk - will only need about 8 oz (1 cup)
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (Pepitas) - small bag (may sub for any other nut or seed or not use at all)
Nut Butter of your choice - 1 jar of creamy or crunchy almond, peanut, cashew, etc.
Granulated Sugar - small bag or box is fine
Powder Sugar - small bag or box is fine
All Purpose Flour - small bag will do
Baking Powder - always a good staple in the pantry
Powder Gelatin - 1 box (will only use about a packet of it)
Unsweetened Cocoa Powder - 1 tub
Dark Chocolate - 8-10 oz
Milk Chocolate - 12-16 oz
Honey - will only need a couple of tbsp
Let the love games begin! This is a going to be a month for the baking record books! That's definitely a thing.
Happy Eating! XOXO
